Glaucoma

Regular examinations help detect changes that may not have obvious early symptoms.

Protecting the optic nerve

Glaucoma is a group of conditions that damage the optic nerve, which carries visual information from the eye to the brain. It is often associated with high eye pressure, but can also occur when pressure is within the normal range.

Why monitoring matters

Many forms of glaucoma have no warning signs in their early stages. Changes can develop gradually before a person notices a loss of vision.

Ongoing care

Regular eye examinations, including pressure measurements and assessment of the optic nerve, help identify concerns. People diagnosed with glaucoma require ongoing monitoring and treatment selected for their condition.
