Styes and blocked eyelid glands

A stye is an inflamed gland at the eyelid margin, often appearing as a red, swollen and tender bump near the eyelashes. Blockage of an eyelid oil gland can allow inflammation and bacterial growth.

What is a chalazion?

A chalazion forms when an oil gland becomes blocked and inflamed. A larger bump can affect vision. Blepharitis and Demodex-related eyelid inflammation may contribute to recurring eyelid problems.
